CCE History
Built in 1966 as a result of a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Center for Continuing Education serves as the conference center for the University of Notre Dame and host to a wide array of guests, events, and intellectual exchange. The Center is part of the Office of Business Operations at Notre Dame.
The Center was designed with open and spacious lounge areas to facilitate discussion and conversation among conference participants, as well as provide room for social events and gatherings.
Its 40,000 square feet of space contain 13 seminar rooms of various sizes and possible configuration, all appointed according to the International Association of Conference Centers guidelines for member centers. The Center also has a 375-seat auditorium equipped for simultaneous translation, and has a large and gracious dining room for conference meals or receptions, all catered by the Morris Inn Banquet Department.
The Center staff are professionals trained to assist in the design and promotion of every type of special event, including registration of participants, arranging campus and hotel accommodations, providing logistical support during the event, and administering all funding and event costs, concluding with a detailed financial statement.
